Give it a skyline
Works best with a clear silhouette against open sky — dusk shots and backlit ridgelines separate cleanest.
Here's what we found
Ridgeline found the line where sky meets land automatically. If the amber outline doesn't hug your ridge, click and drag directly on the photo to draw it yourself — or fine-tune the detector below.

Custom colors
Off-dark and off-white tend to print with a visible tint on mugs — pick pure white, pure black, or a solid color instead for a truer print.
Take it with you
Download the PNG above, then print it yourself or turn it into something physical.
Want it on a mug? Open this Zazzle mug template and upload the PNG there — click "Personalize this design" and use the file you just downloaded.
See how the math builds it — step-by-step panels, formulas, and an epicycle animation
Each step shows the equation directly: the ridge so far, plus the next wave ordered by magnitude — biggest and most structural first — equals the new ridge. Formulas are in terms of x ∈ [0, 1], the normalized position across the ridge. The number of steps is how many waves make it into the final result — the last step overlays whatever you land on onto your original photo, so you can see how close it gets.
Each step reveals the wave being added (top strip, red) before it merges into the ridge (green).
